WELCOME TO THE CAF CENTRAL CALIFORNIA VALLEY SQUADRON
The Central California Valley Squadron (CCVS), a unit of the Commemorative Air Force, is based at the Modesto City-County Airport (KMOD) in the historic 1929 Hangar in Modesto.
Our historic hangar houses various vintage aircraft and vehicles; L-3, L-5, L-19, PT-23, a WWII Ambulance and two WWII Military Jeeps. We are also proud to have in our hangar a Scottish Aviation Bulldog and our Heritage Air Power Museum.
The CAF Hangar is open every Saturday. The Second Saturday of each month is our well attended "Second Saturday" pancake breakfast, all other Saturdays you can join us for lunch. Each quarter we have our general membership dinner meeting and throughout theyear we have various fundraisers such as our Annual Crab Feed, 1940s' Hangar Dinner Dance.You do not have to be a CAF member to attend the meetings or participate in any of the activities. Members of the public are welcome to join us!
The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit educational organization. Proceeds from ticket sales, rides and fund raising events go to support our the CCVS and to keep our vintage military aircraft in flying condition.
The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is dedicated to preserving and showing historical aircraft throughout the United States and Canada. Collecting aircraft for nearly a half a century, the CAF now ranks as one of the largest air forces in the world. Today the CAF has more than 12,000 members and a fleet of more than 150 aircraft representing more than 60 different types. The CAF was founded to acquire, restore and preserve in flying condition a complete collection of combat aircraft which were flown by all military services of the United States, and selected aircraft of other nations, for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations of Americans.
The main objectives of the CAF are:

To provide museum buildings for the permanent protection and display of these aircraft as a tribute to the thousands of men and women who built, serviced and flew them.
To perpetuate in the memory and in the hearts of all Americans the spirit in which these great planes were flown in the defense of our nation.
To establish an organization having the dedication, enthusiasm and esprit de corps necessary to operate, maintain and preserve these aircraft as symbols of our American military aviation heritage.
The Central California Valley Squadron is a Unit of the CAF located at 700 Tioga Drive Modesto CA. 95354. Our Hangar, built in 1928, is one of the oldest in California and houses L-Birds (Liaison Aircraft) from 1942 through 1951.
